Fixed Bridges

Fixed bridges are non-removable appliances fabricated to replace missing teeth.  They are made with a combination of porcelain and metal or all porcelain.

A bridge that is made to replace ONE tooth consists of TWO crowns that are placed over two anchor teeth (abutment teeth) that are attached to an artificial tooth (pontic) in the middle.

Reasons for a fixed bridge:

  • Fill the space created by tooth loss
  • Prevent remaining teeth from drifting out of position
  • Restore chewing and speaking ability
  • Upgrade from a removable partial denture to a permanent dental appliance
  • Maintain facial shape
  • Restore your smile
